This is RE week so we will be looking at: What it is like to be a Hindu in Britain today? Alongside this we will be continuing with our fractions in maths and our persuasive writing in English. Keep up the great work everyone – one more week then it’s half-term holiday!

As it is the last week of term, this week I have made a list of the words most frequently spelt incorrectly by Year 4. When you complete your LSCWC sheet look at each word and highlight the ‘difficult’ part of the word.

You are going to write a persuasive argument on why: The school should not wear uniform when we return back to school.

  • Monday through to Wednesday – Write the first draft of your persuasive argument (use the table for the success criteria below – all of these features should appear in your work)

  • Thursday – edit and improve your work
  • Friday – publish your work and send it in to me (handwritten please).

Success Criteria:

  • Watch the clip several times and note down the key scenes (ideally 6 or 8 scenes)
  • Divide your paper into 6 or 8 equally segments depending on how many scenes you are going to draw
  • Draw a picture for each scene
  • Use heading at the top of each scene – to help tell the story
  • Use speech bubbles for your character to help tell the story (tip – write text then the bubble to keep things neat).
  • Partially colour in your work to make characters stand out

I would like you to look at how other people make the world a better place and why they do this (their motivation for doing it).

Your task is to:

  1.  Identify 5 different jobs people do to make the world a better place and then explain why you think these people do their job.
  2.  What could you do during lockdown to help make someone’s life better. Explain who, and what that job could be, and what would be your motivation for doing this?
